31. Houston Texans

Expectations were high for the Houston Texans heading into 2018 since they seemed like a strong candidate to get back on the winning track now that key players in Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt were finally healthy again. But through the first three games, the Texans seem to be an absolute mess, and it’s difficult to imagine Bill O’Brien lasting that much longer if things don’t improve soon.

Houston knew Sunday’s game against the New York Giants wasn’t one to take lightly since each of their first two losses came against two top defenses in the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys, but Sunday’s game was a disappointment for the most part. The fact that it took the Texans until the fourth quarter just to score their first points of the game shows how frustrating this team has been to watch, and it’ not like they’re lacking in talent since the argument can be made both sides of the football are stacked, at least on paper.

No matter what it takes, Watson needs to figure out a way to get better production from this offense before it’s too late. The Texans finally felt confident enough in finding a quarterback to build the franchise around in Watson, and even if some believe he deserves some benefit of the doubt for easing his way back from the torn ACL, the team still needs to win games.
