20. Los Angeles Chargers

One week after cruising to an easy win over the Buffalo Bills, the Los Angeles Chargers knew they were going to be in for their toughest battle of the young season when taking on the Los Angeles Rams, which was exactly the case. No matter how hard the Chargers tried on defense, the unit struggled to prevent the Rams from putting up points, even if they did come through with a few big plays throughout the contest.

As bad as it sounds, the only chance the Chargers were going to have in a game like this would be if they put up 30-40 points, especially with the defense banged up since it’s clear they miss Joey Bosa. But if the Chargers needed one area to feel positive about moving forward, it should be the confidence Mike Williams is beginning to show as a reliable target in the passing game.

Even if the Rams were hurting at the cornerback position later in the game, watching Williams haul in four catches for 81 yards to go along with two scores shows how quickly the youngster is coming along. Between Williams and Keenan Allen at receiver along with Melvin Gordon in the backfield, the Chargers’ offense appears to be in great shape, and despite the team sitting at 1-2, don’t sleep on them in the AFC.
