1. Corey Clement

At the moment, all signs point to Corey Clement taking on a heavier workload in the backfield this weekend against the Colts, as the Eagles are dealing with injuries to Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles. While the veteran Sproles missed last weekend’s game against the Buccaneers, Ajayi was banged up during the actual game, and as a result, Philadelphia could be without two of their key players for this weekend’s game.

If that happens to be the case, Clement will be more than ready to step it up on offense, as it’s safe to say the second-year running back has been waiting for a larger opportunity in 2018 after limited action over the first two games. Dating back to last season, Doug Pederson has taken the approach of riding the hot hand at running back, and while that worked well for Clement last year during the Super Bowl run, he hasn’t seen as much action so far in 2018.

When looking at all of the hype surrounding Clement heading into September, the fact that he only has 11 rushes over the first two games seems questionable, although it was great to see him find the end zone in Tampa Bay during Week 2. Maybe if Clement comes through with a strong outing on Sunday, it will make Pederson realize that it’s time to get his running back more involved moving forward, especially if it helps the Eagles get out of this funk on offense.
