28. Houston Texans

With Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt finally healthy, the Houston Texans were expected to be one of those teams in the AFC that could potentially bounce back as a playoff contender after dealing with the injury bug most of last year. Two games in, the Texans appear to have a lot of work to do if that’s going to have any chance of happening since they couldn’t even figure out a way to get by the Tennessee Titans in Week 2.

To top the frustration off, Houston ended up losing the game with Marcus Mariota watching from the sidelines, and Blaine Gabbert under center, which is just as embarrassing as it sounds. Even if the argument can be made that the Texans deserves some benefit of the doubt since players like Watson and Watt are still adjusting to playing again, this isn’t going to help them down the road if they end up in a tight race to earn a playoff spot.

Houston’s best chance of turning things around is if Watson figures out a way to bring back some of that explosiveness from the beginning of his rookie season in which the quarterback was shredding all defenders standing in his way. Otherwise, it could be a long season for the Texans.
