2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 3: Eagles hope return of Carson Wentz brings spark

1. Los Angeles Rams

Throughout the offseason, the Los Angeles Rams made it clear they were in a win-now mode, and would do whatever it takes to put them in the best position to win the Super Bowl. After two games, it’s difficult to imagine a stronger Super Bowl contender at the moment since the Rams are playing well enough on both sides of the football where it seems like a real possibility.

Take a look at their recent 34-0 win over the Arizona Cardinals in which the defense not only recorded the shutout, but also managed to keep Sam Bradford under 100 passing yards, which is kind crazy to think about since he has David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald to work with. Los Angeles looked a little rusty in the opener on the road against the Oakland Raiders, but seeing them play the way they did to take down Arizona shows this unit is going to be difficult to score on.

As for the offense, Todd Gurley’s three touchdowns were impressive, but it’s the wide-receiver trio led by Brandin Cooks that is going to help this offense reach a new level in 2018. Living up to the offseason hype, and dealing with the pressure of being a top Super Bowl contender were big questions surrounding the Rams, but this team is clearly the real deal.
