15. Los Angeles Chargers

Unlike last year, the Los Angeles Chargers were able to end up with at least one victory during the first month of the regular season, even if it was against a team in the Buffalo Bills that seems like they’re going to struggle to earn wins. On paper, the Chargers seem capable of making a run at the playoffs in the AFC, and when looking at how much the defense is missing Joey Bosa, the team needs every win they can get until he’s healthy again.

While Philip Rivers (23 of 27 for 256 yards with three touchdowns) led the way once again on offense, Los Angeles was thrilled to see Melvin Gordon find the end zone three times on his own. The Chargers running back has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most explosive players in the NFL, and seeing him be just as valuable in the receiving department continues to give this offense an extra advantage when facing opponents.

Getting that first win after all of the struggles from 2017 was huge for Los Angeles, and now comes the time to continue proving they deserve to be in the contender conversation. Taking on the Los Angeles Rams is going to be far from easy, but also this will be a good challenge to see where the Chargers actually stand against a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
