2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 3: Eagles hope return of Carson Wentz brings spark

19. Tennessee Titans
All week, the biggest question surrounding the Tennessee Titans was whether Marcus Mariota would be healthy enough to play for the offense under center. And even though Mariota was active before the contest, the Titans made the right decision going with Blaine Gabbert just to be safe to make sure the injury didn’t become worse.
Even better, Tennessee was able to let Mariota rest, and still come through with a win over their division rivals, the Houston Texans. After coming up short the week before when taking on the New England Patriots, many expected the Texans to take full advantage of the Titans playing without Mariota, which was completely the opposite after Tennessee pulled through with the 20-17 victory.
Thanks to a successful offseason in which they loaded up in both free agency along with the NFL Draft, the Titans were one of those teams that many expected to pick right up where they left off following last year’s surprise success. Tennessee clearly still has a long way to go when it comes to stacking up against the rest of the top competition in the AFC, but at least taking down Houston takes off some of the pressure surrounding the team keeping up with everyone else.
