20. Dallas Cowboys

Believe it or not, the defense of the Dallas Cowboys was the surprise hero during Sunday’s win over the New York Giants, showing early signs of being a top unit for the 2018 season. As frustrating as it was to lose on opening weekend to the Carolina Panthers, keep in mind that the Cowboys only gave up 16 points in that game as well.

On the season, Dallas has only allowed their opponents to score 29 points, and it should also be noted that 10 of those points happened to come in the final two minutes of Sunday night’s game. For a team that was always viewed to have a better offense than defense, the Cowboys will most likely see their name move up on this list in the next couple of weeks if all goes according to plan.

Then again, if the defense is going to be playing at this elite level, this will put even more pressure on Dak Prescott to do whatever it takes working with Ezekiel Elliott to make sure the offense is producing enough points each week. It was only one game, but seeing Prescott make numerous key throws along with some big runs in Week 2 was exactly what the Cowboys wanted to see.
