The Philadelphia Eagles took a bit of a hit in the 2018 NFL Power Rankings for Week 3 after losing a tough road battle to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It looks like after months of sitting near the top of the 2018 NFL Power Rankings, the Philadelphia Eagles are taking a little bit of a hit this week, and rightfully so when looking at how brutal of a loss they’re coming off of on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A few weeks ago, a matchup like this seemed to work in the favor of the defending Super Bowl champions, but between Ryan Fitzpatrick lighting up the defense along with Nick Foles barely receiving any support from his receivers, it was easy to see why the Eagles lost.

Clearly, Philadelphia is in desperate need of some sort of spark on offense when seeing how the team has only scored 39 points over their first two contests, but hopefully all of that is about to change with Carson Wentz returning to action. After months of being patient while recovering from that devastating knee injury suffered last December, Wentz will officially take over the starting role under center now that he’s officially been medically cleared, beginning on Sunday when hosting the Indianapolis Colts.

How Wentz will look is going to be difficult to determine until the game officially gets underway, but even the Eagles understand the importance of being patient, and how there’s a good chance it will take a little bit of time for him to return to his normal ways. Before getting into more details over what this means for Philadelphia in the NFL Power Rankings, let’s take a closer look at some of the other teams first before seeing where the defending champions stand.
