2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 2: Eagles barely hold off Falcons
By Dan Parzych
29. New York Giants
Losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars may seem frustrating for the New York Giants since the team missed out on numerous golden opportunities to pull off the win, especially in the fourth quarter when Eli Manning watched Myles Jack return an interception for a touchdown. But when looking at how Saquon Barkley (68-yard touchdown run) and Odell Beckham Jr. (11 catches for 111 yards) looked against one of the top defenses the league has to offer in the Jaguars, the Giants should feel much better about their situation on offense.
After winning just three games all of last year, New York is one of those teams expected to see completely different results in 2018, and as long as they build off this first game against Jacksonville, there’s every reason to believe they will continue improving. On paper, the presence of Barkley and Beckham puts Eli Manning in the perfect position to help lead one of the top offenses in the NFL, although the veteran quarterback still has plenty of work to do.
Up next, New York will face a familiar face in the Dallas Cowboys, and when looking at the history between these two teams, this should be an epic showdown. Assuming Barkley and Beckham pick up where they left off in Week 1, the Giants will be in great position to earn their first win.
