8. New Orleans Saints

Football fans that participate in suicide pools across the country, and decided to go with the New Orleans Saints experienced plenty of frustration in Week 1 after watching the defending NFC South champions suffer a surprising Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When seeing how the two teams compared from last season, this seemed like it would be an easy way for the Saints to start off the new season since they had plenty of factors working to their advantage.

Whether it was Tampa Bay going with Ryan Fitzpatrick instead of Jameis Winston or the struggles of the defense for the Buccaneers throughout 2017, New Orleans arguably seemed like a lock to come out on top in this one. Instead, the Saints are left wondering what on earth happened in their home opener, especially on the defensive side of the football.

For a team that was considered one of the top defensive units last season, it was a major surprise to see the Saints as a team allow 48 point to the Buccaneers. Not even a three-touchdown day by Alvin Kamara was enjoyable since none of this seems to even matter for New Orleans since the poor play on defense still resulted in the team starting off the new season with a 0-1 record.
