2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 2: Eagles barely hold off Falcons
By Dan Parzych
32. Buffalo Bills
Last year, the Buffalo Bills were one of the biggest surprises in the NFL after their defense helped the team put an end to their long overdue playoff drought by earning one of the Wild Card spots in the AFC, although the offense was pretty inconsistent for the most part. Entering 2018, the Bills were in a similar situation in which the defense seemed like it would be the stronger unit, but what took place on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens was completely unexpected.
Coincidentally, Buffalo took that final playoff spot away from Baltimore in Week 17 of last season since the Ravens had a 97 percent chance of earning a trip to the postseason before falling to the Cincinnati Bengals during that final game. And when seeing how the Bills ended up on the wrong side of the 47-3 loss, one would think the Ravens were playing with a revenge mindset in this contest.
Starting Nathan Peterman (5 of 18 for 24 yards with two interceptions) already seemed like a questionable move for Buffalo, and unless he figures out a way to drastically turn things around, it seems like only a matter of time before Josh Allen replaces him under center. One loss doesn’t defy an entire season, but early signs point to this Bills team being in for a long next couple of months on offense.
