15. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers learned the hard way last season just how much a poor start can backfire since they ended the season on a hot note winning six of their final seven games, yet still missed out on the playoffs. One can only imagine how different things would have been if it didn’t take until Week 5 to earn their first win, but the Chargers were hoping September would be much different this time around.

With that being said, it looks like the high-powered offense of the Kansas City Chiefs was just too much for Los Angeles to handle in the opener after the Chargers fell to their rivals 38-28, with the defense having zero answers for Patrick Mahomes II and Tyreek Hill. While the speedster Hill finished with three trips into the end zone, including a 91-yard punt return on the first possession of 2018 for the Chiefs, the Chargers allowed Mahomes to toss four touchdown passes in his first meaningful start since taking the place of Alex Smith.

Sunday was one of those days in which Los Angeles desperately could have used a healthy Joey Bosa, and hearing how the star defender could be out even longer is another crushing blow to the defense. On a positive note, at least taking on the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 should help the Chargers get back on track if this past weekend is any indication.
