18. Tennessee Titans

After a surprise run at the playoffs last season that even led to them earning a trip to the Divisional Round, the Tennessee Titans took expectations to a whole new level this offseason by making key additions through both free agency and the draft. Unfortunately, the Titans didn’t exactly see their new season get off to the best start after losing a tough one on the road to the Miami Dolphins while potentially losing their star quarterback in the process.

Dealing with the long weather delay for most of Sunday was one thing, but seeing Mariota leave the game with an elbow injury has Tennessee fans holding their breath over how serious it may be. Even if the former Oregon quarterback didn’t exactly have the best of games when facing the Dolphins after tossing two interceptions before leaving with the injury, Mariota is going to give the Titans their best chance of earning a trip to the playoffs for a second year in a row.

Along with Tennessee dealing with the frustrations surrounding Mariota’s injury, the offense could have seen a much better game from Derrick Henry (26 rushing yards on 10 carries) as well. The Titans made a bold move by making Henry the featured back in the offense after moving on from DeMarco Murray, and it would be a shame to see him fail to take advantage of the expanded role, although there’s no reason to officially panic just yet.
