23. Arizona Cardinals

It only took one game to bring out the topic of discussion over whether the Arizona Cardinals made a mistake paying Sam Bradford all of that money in the offseason when seeing how the team only put up six points against the Washington Redskins. To top off the frustration, the only score of the game by the Redskins came towards the end of the fourth quarter when David Johnson found the end zone on a two-year run, which means the Cardinals were that close to being shutout.

When looking at what he has to work with on paper, there’s no excuse for Bradford to complete just 20 of 34 passes for 153 yards with an interception like he did in Week 1, even if the Redskins deserve plenty of credit for the way they played on defense. Most quarterbacks would do anything to have the kind of weapons like Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald to work with, so it will be interesting to see how Bradford responds next weekend on the road against what should be one of the top defenses in the Los Angeles Rams.

For Bradford’s sake, the former No. 1 pick better realize that if the struggles continue, the Cardinals won’t hesitate to replace him with rookie Josh Rosen since they believe the former UCLA star has the potential to be the team’s next franchise quarterback. But before jumping to that conclusion, let’s see how Bradford responds first.
