4. Nobody stepped up at receiver other than Agholor

First off, Nelson Agholor deserves some credit for the way he stepped up in the passing game by hauling in eight passes, although it would have been better if those catches didn’t just go for a total of 33 yards. Still, when looking at how the former USC star took a major step forward last season while helping the Eagles during their Super Bowl run, it was great to see Agholor step up against the Falcons since the team was at a disadvantage playing without Alshon Jeffery and Mack Hollins.

Agholor even came up big at one point on a big third down play in which he ended up rushing for 16 yards, showing once again that he can be used in multiple ways. Putting together a few more big plays will be important for the Philadelphia wideout moving forward, but at least starting the year off with eight catches can be used to build from.

While Agholor was already expected to be a key factor in this offense for the defending champions, his impact is going to be even more important until the receiving corps gets fully healthy. As for some of Agholor’s teammates, (such as Mike Wallace with no catches), maybe they can figure out a way to step it up a little more in Week 2 when facing Tampa Bay.
