8. Atlanta Falcons

All the Atlanta Falcons wanted last season was another shot at earning a trip to the Super Bowl after ending up on the wrong side of NFL history the year before by blowing that unfortunate 28-3 lead against the New England Patriots. Losing to the Eagles the way they did was a tough pill to swallow for the Falcons since Julio Jones was so close to hauling in that touchdown towards the end of the Divisional Round, but at least it sets the bar high for the 2018 season.

Talent alone, Atlanta shouldn’t have an issue at earning a trip to the playoffs for a third season in a row, even when seeing how the first two preseason games have gone. As mentioned before with a few other teams, the most important factor for the Falcons is showing up when it matters the most during the regular season, especially on opening night against the Eagles.

Revenge will be on Atlanta’s mind for sure that first meeting against Philadelphia to help make up for what took place last January. With Matt Ryan leading a high-powered offense along with a young defense that continues to get better each season, the Falcons appear to be in great shape.
