2018 NFL Power Rankings: Eagles no longer on top after Week 2 of preseason
By Dan Parzych
11. Los Angeles Chargers
Whether they want to hear it or not, the Los Angeles Chargers have no one to blame other than themselves for falling short of the playoffs last season when considering they were one of the hottest teams in football during the final two months. There aren’t many teams that will come up short of the playoffs despite ending the year winning six of seven games, but that was exactly the case for the Chargers in 2017.
If only Los Angeles didn’t take until Week 5 to win their first game of the regular season, chances are they would have gone on to make the playoffs, and who knows what would have happened from there. Defense was one of the main reasons behind the success of the Chargers towards the end of the year, and with Joey Bosa continuing to get better with experience, there’s a good chance that will be the case once again this season.
Not to mention, Philip Rivers is at a point in his career where he’s going to feel extra motivated to make a run at the Super Bowl since the veteran isn’t getting any younger. Based off how they looked against the Seattle Seahawks, the Chargers should feel confident about their chances in making it happen.
