2018 NFL Power Rankings: Eagles no longer on top after Week 2 of preseason
By Dan Parzych
15. Houston Texans
One can only imagine how different last season would have been for the Houston Texans if the team didn’t suffer key injuries to players like Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt, but at least 2018 is a fresh start. While Watt has played a major role in previous years helping the Texans have one of the league’s top defensive units, the offense has struggled to find a consistent quarterback to build the franchise around, that is until Watson came along.
Houston most likely would have seen their quarterback go on to win Rookie of the Year if Watson never suffered a torn ACL during practice in the middle of last season, but all that matters moving forward is that he’s healthy enough to return to his normal ways. If that does end up happening, the Texans may end up returning to the level of being a serious contender in the AFC.
Through two games, Houston has been able to come up on the winning end both times, but it would better to see the offense figure out a way to score more points over these final two weeks of preseason. Then again, as long as Watson remains healthy, that’s what really matters the most.
