19. Baltimore Ravens

Monday will be the third preseason game for the Baltimore Ravens after squaring off against the Bears in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, and all eyes will be on the offense to see if they continue to stay hot after last week’s impressive outing against the Los Angeles Rams. Over the years, defense has been the major strength of the Ravens, but the offense has been a different story as one of the most inconsistent units in the league.

This time around, however, Baltimore has added a few key weapons for Joe Flacco to work with, one of which happened to be Michael Crabtree following his surprise release from the Oakland Raiders when Jordy Nelson became available. And while Flacco’s job is safe until he basically decides to call it a career, one of the main highlights surrounding the Ravens from the preseason has been the excitement Lamar Jackson brings to the table.

Moving back into the end of the first round in April made it clear they believe the former Louisville star has what it takes to be the successor to Flacco if he plays his cards right. Running quarterbacks tend to have an extra advantage at the NFL level, and Jackson just needs to be patient for his turn to take over the job once Flacco is out of the picture, whether it’s 2019 or later on.
