2018 NFL Power Rankings: Philadelphia Eagles begin preseason on top
By Dan Parzych
1. Philadelphia Eagles
Not even all of the questions surrounding the health status of key players is going to prevent a team like the Eagles starting off on top of a list like this one since they clearly deserve it after last year.
Remember all of the football fans that wrote off Philadelphia last September when Wentz suffered a season-ending injury since it seemed impossible for this team to compete without him? Well, all of those football fans learned their lesson when it comes to doubting this team, as the Eagles are on a whole new level where they feel confident enough in overcoming any challenge standing in the way, including the injury department.
Will Wentz play Week 1? How about Alshon Jeffery? Better yet, should there be concerns surrounding Brandon Graham?
In good time, all of these questions will be answered for Philadelphia, as they look to continue their quest of repeating as Super Bowl champions. While most teams would worry in this situation over all of the uncertainty with key players, the Eagles showed last year they’re loaded enough with depth to have other guys step up when needed, meaning there really is no point in worrying at this stage in the preseason since Doug Pederson will find a way if needed, no matter what.
