1. Has Jordan Mailata learned enough to get on the field?

One of the strangest things that Eagles ownership did during the draft was to select Australian rugby player Jordan Mailata. A massive athlete at 6’8″ and 346 pounds, Mailata is the type of project that you draft with low risk and hope that he becomes an asset.

The Eagles took a bet on him with their seventh-round pick, and the belief is that if he can pick up the North American game, he could one day be a dominant offensive lineman just on his physical stats alone. That is a big if, though.

Still, it would be fun to see Mailata play in this game. It could be a bit of a long shot, but it would not be surprising to see Pederson throw Mailata out there for a series or two. After all, the coaching staff probably wants to see how much he’s been able to absorb.

Next. Owens will always be biggest what could have been for Eagles. dark

If Mailata were to play well in his debut, the coaching staff would obviously have to think hard about creating a roster spot for him. With Jason Peters inching ever closer to retirement, it would be a blessing to have a specimen like Mailata waiting in the wings to step in.
