The Philadelphia Eagles made the easy decision to extend Doug Pederson and Howie Roseman through the 2022 season.

As the Philadelphia Eagles continue to prepare for their first preseason game of 2018 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, the team decided to make a big move on Sunday to make sure they remain in great shape for years to come.

In a decision that almost seemed too easy to agree on, the Eagles officially extended general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Doug Pederson through the 2022 season, which is quite the reward for helping the team earn their first Super Bowl in franchise history.

While Pederson received heavy praise for keeping this team focused despite all of the key injuries that took place last season ranging from Carson Wentz to Jason Peters, Roseman has always been one of the main individuals making all of the key moves behind the scenes.

For example, it’s still amazing to this day that Roseman was able to acquire Jay Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins in the middle of last year to boost the depth at running back, and all he had to give up in return was a future fourth-round pick.

Thanks to Roseman’s win-now mentality, Philadelphia as a team has one of the strongest rosters heading into 2018, and there’s every reason in the world to believe they have a legitimate shot at repeating.

When looking at the journey these two have been through over the years, Eagles fans should feel beyond excited to hear that Pederson and Roseman will continue to be part of the picture for years to come.

Some football fans have already been discussing the possibility of Philadelphia putting together a dynasty after last year’s surprise success, and agreeing to these extensions before the start of their first preseason game will give the team a much better chance of making it happen.

Things weren’t always that great for these two a few years ago, but all that matters now is the Eagles continue to be one of the top teams in the NFL moving forward. Winning the Super Bowl last February was one of the best feelings in the world, but now the main goal is to do whatever it takes to win more.

It’s not going to be easy since the team will be playing with targets on their backs, but at least Philadelphia is making key moves like these extensions to increase their odds of seeing it take place once again in 2018.
