Philadelphia Eagles: 5 current players with best chance of reaching Hall of Fame
By Dan Parzych
3. Fletcher Cox
As if earning Pro Bowl honors for a third year in a row wasn’t already impressive enough, Fletcher Cox topped the accomplishment off by helping the Eagles finally win their first Super Bowl title in franchise history. Two years ago, Philadelphia made a bold decision to reward Cox with a hefty six-year, $103 million ($63 million guaranteed), and even though some fans questioned the decision at the time, this was the best move from an overall perspective.
Philadelphia took a major leap last season on the defensive side of the football last season during their run at winning the Super Bowl, and Cox seems to have his eyes on not only helping his team repeat as champions, but also pull off an accomplishment of his own.
Winning Defensive Player of the Year certainly isn’t going to be easy when looking at some of the other players that are expected to make a strong case in 2018, but there’s no question Cox will be ready for the challenge. Even more exciting, since Cox received his six-year extension back in 2016, the defensive tackle is going to be in the picture for the Eagles for years to come since this is only the beginning.
