With the way he’s looked so far in training camp, early signs point to Carson Wentz being ready to go for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.
Now that training camp is officially underway for the Philadelphia Eagles, one of the biggest stories fans have been monitoring over the last couple of days has been the progress of Carson Wentz.
Heading into the offseason, the Eagles understood the importance of making sure they didn’t rush the former first-round pick back before he was ready since a torn ACL and LCL is no injury to mess with.
No matter how much Wentz pushed himself or insisted, Philadelphia knew deep down they would have to look at the big picture overall to make sure there weren’t any setbacks.
It’s only been a few days, but seeing the progress made by Wentz so far in training camp has been beyond exciting for the Eagles and fans to see.
Just how much progress has Wentz already made since suffering the devastating injury in December? Well, the fact that he was able to participate in 11-on-11 drills on Saturday in full pads was a huge step in the right direction for the Eagles quarterback, making it seem like he will be fully ready to go come Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons.

For obvious reasons, Wentz still has a lot to prove from now until September since that first game against the Falcons is still over a month away, but at least he seems to be making the necessary progress to give this a better chance of this happening.
As great as Nick Foles was in helping the team earn their first Super Bowl title in franchise history, everybody knows this is Wentz’s team, and he played a major role in helping put Philadelphia in great position to lock up that No. 1 seed in the NFC before his injury.
Wentz may need to change some of his normal ways after the injury such as only running with the football when necessary, but that’s nothing the Eagles haven’t already addressed this offseason.
All things considered, it’s amazing to see Wentz currently in this position during training camp, and here’s to hoping he only continues to progress over the next month to help make starting Week 1 more of a reality.
