With training camp getting under this way for the defending Super Bowl champions, this year brings a whole new feeling for the Philadelphia Eagles.

It seems like only yesterday that the Philadelphia Eagles were hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after pulling off an incredible Super Bowl run in which they won all three of their postseason games as underdogs.

All hope seemed lost for the Eagles back in December when Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending injury since most fans didn’t believe Nick Foles was capable of carrying this team to the promised land. But after he went on to win Super Bowl MVP, Foles will forever be remembered as a hero in the City of Brotherly Love.

Now, one of the biggest questions surrounding Philadelphia heading into camp will be the status of Wentz, and how close he will look to being ready for Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons, although settling with Foles to start the year wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.

Most importantly, the Eagles will head into training camp with a new experience since the team has never entered a new season with the pressure of being defending champions.

After decades of disappointment along with missed opportunities during previous playoff outings, Philadelphia finally came through last winter by earning their first Super Bowl in franchise history.

Some football fans have questioned whether the Eagles have what it takes to handle the pressure of being defending champions since it’s a whole new feeling they aren’t used to dealing with, but that’s not going to scare Doug Pederson.

If anything, the football fans questioning if Philadelphia can handle the pressure should look back to last January and February to see how they handled the pressure of being underdogs the entire postseason, even with two games at home as the No. 1 seed.

Even if Philadelphia has plenty of questions still in need of answers over these next few weeks, Pederson will make sure his players are ready to handle whatever kind of pressure that is standing in their way over these next few weeks.
