With free agency underway, it looks like the Philadelphia 76ers will meet with representatives of LeBron James on Sunday.

Now that the new league year is officially underway in the NBA, all eyes have been on LeBron James, and which team the superstar will decide to play for during the 2018-19 season.

After opting out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers as two potential landing spots.

In fact, it looks like the Sixers are wasting little time getting in on the action by meeting with James’ representatives on Sunday in Los Angeles, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

While some Philadelphia fans are concerned over the fact that James himself won’t actually be in attendance for the meeting, just hearing about a meeting taking place is beyond amazing when considering where this team was a few years ago.

Up until this past season, the Sixers went through years of rebuilding and struggling, but landing a superstar like James to play alongside Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons would make it all worth it.

Los Angeles may seem like the better market over Philadelphia for a player like James, but the potential surrounding this Sixers team coming off a 52-win season could be tough to turn down.

Brett Brown made it clear that Philadelphia would be star hunting this summer since their playoff series loss to the Boston Celtics made it clear this team was in desperate need of adding another superstar to give them a better chance of competing in the Eastern Conference.

Whether that player ends up being James, only time will tell for the Sixers, but at least landing a meeting with James’ representatives is a good start.

Who would have thought a team that won 10 games three years ago would all of a sudden be in the sweepstakes to sign one of the greatest basketball players of all time in James?

Obviously, James will most likely take his time before rushing to a decision since there will be plenty of offers for him to consider, but also that’s not going to prevent Philadelphia fans from being excited over the possibility of this signing actually happening.
