After winning the Super Bowl in February, PFF believes the Philadelphia Eagles have the best roster heading into the month of July.

For the first time ever, the Philadelphia Eagles will head into a new season as defending Super Bowl champions after pulling off the unthinkable last season by making an epic run, despite all of the injuries on both sides of the football.

Between losing Carson Wentz and Jason Peters on offense to Jordan Hicks rupturing his Achilles tendon on defense, winning the Super Bowl was anything but easy for Doug Pederson‘s squad.

But also, this shows just how much talent Philadelphia had on their roster since key players were capable of being replaced.

Heading into 2018, the Eagles are already considered one of the early favorites to make a serious run at the Super Bowl, and rightfully so when looking at the position this team has put themselves in to give them a better chance of repeating.

So when the folks at PFF decided to list Philadelphia as having the top roster at this point in the offseason, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to any football fan.

As mentioned before, the fact that the Eagles were able to win the Super Bowl the way they did while overcoming all sorts of injuries shows the kind of depth this team has, and a lot of that falls on Pederson as head coach.

While most coaches and teams would panic in a situation like this, Pederson did everything in his power to remain calm to keep his team focused on what was most important, which was winning the Super Bowl.

Even more exciting, all signs at the moment point to Wentz being ready to go for that opening game against the Atlanta Falcons. And if not, at least the Eagles will still be in great shape with Nick Foles filling in under center until Wentz is ready to go.

Philadelphia has waited a long time to finally earn that first Super Bowl win, and with the pressure of earning that first title officially under their belt, now the task becomes continuing to win more. It’s certainly not going to be easy, but PFF giving them the honors of having the best roster heading into July is just one of many factors as to why it could happen for the Eagles.
