In an unexpected story related to the Philadelphia Eagles, former wide receiver Freddie Mitchell took to Twitter to call out his old teammate, Donovan McNabb.

As the Philadelphia Eagles continue to prepare for the 2018 season by participating in OTAs, fans received a blast from the past on Friday when former wide receiver Freddie Mitchell called out Donovan McNabb on Twitter.

For the football fans that need a refresher, Mitchell was the former first-round pick that previously had a ton of hype coming out of UCLA in 2001 before going on to be one of the biggest busts in franchise history.

Sure, Eagles fans will always remember Mitchell for his famous 4th and 26 catch in the playoffs against the Green Bay Packers, but all things considered, he was an embarrassment for the most part.

The fact that Mitchell only caught five career touchdown passes in four seasons with Philadelphia from 2001-04 is just one of many examples of why it was best for the team to move on from the wideout when they did back in the day.

However, it looks like Mitchell still has harsh feelings towards his old teammate on offense in McNabb after a surprising Twitter post related to Thursday’s NBA Finals results between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

First off, the reference to LeBron James is from the end of Game 1 in which J.R. Smith made the awful decision to pass on what could have been the game-winning shot, and dribbled the basketball out instead.

As a result, the Cavaliers would end up losing the game in overtime to the Warriors, and while James has plenty of reasons to be upset towards Smith, Mitchell seems to still respect him standing up for his teammate.

With that being said, maybe Mitchell is still upset from the story that was also a surprise a few years ago in which he apparently found out from strippers that McNabb hated him. Either way, at least Philadelphia fans can enjoy a little trash talking from a potential feud over 10 years in the making.

If anything, it’s safe to say that if any former member of the Eagles were to call McNabb out recently, it would be Terrell Owens. At least for Philadelphia, this story will be meaningless for the most part, and won’t have an impact one bit on their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champions.
