If the Boston Celtics end up defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, this could potentially help the Philadelphia 76ers land LeBron James.

Even though the Philadelphia 76ers are currently in offseason mode, all eyes will be on LeBron James on Sunday night, as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics will be battling it out for a trip to the NBA Finals. Taking down the Celtics on the road in Game without Kevin Love may seem like a difficult challenge, but also keep in mind this is King James, meaning the Cavaliers should never truly be ruled out.

If anything, James may be extra motivated to keep that impressive NBA Finals streak alive, although this time around has been more difficult than previous experiences since Cleveland hasn’t exactly given him the best weapons to work with.

From Philadelphia’s perspective, one can only imagine how the Eastern Conference Finals would have turned out if they were the ones facing Cleveland instead of Boston, but Game 7 could end up having a major impact on the future.

For months, there have been rumors about the possibility of James ending up in free agency this summer, and end up on the radar of the Sixers, who will be in search of a superstar. While there were plenty of frustrating reasons behind Philadelphia losing to Boston in the playoffs the way they did, the one factor that stood out the most was how much this team was in need of adding a superstar.

The potential surrounding the duo of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid will make the Sixers a dangerous team for years to come, but when looking at how competitive the Eastern Conference is going to be as well, this team clearly needs some extra help.

As crazy as it may be to think about when it comes to James leaving the Cavaliers for a second time in his career, keep in mind it could be more likely to happen if the Cavaliers end up winning Game 7 on Sunday evening.

One would think that an organization like Cleveland would have little trouble building the necessary team around James to reach the NBA Finals, but this series against Boston has proven this has been far from the case.

Clearly, a supporting cast consisting of players like George Hill and J.R. Smith are far from the answer for a team like the Cavaliers, as James has been forced to take on a heavier workload over the last few weeks, which seems to have taken a toll on him at times.

If basketball fans thought James was frustrated at times before, just imagine the level of frustration he’s going to hit if Cleveland ends up falling short of reaching the NBA Finals for the fourth year in a row. Cheering for the Celtics may be tough since they were the ones that put an end to the surprise playoff run by the Sixers, but if it helps bring James to Philadelphia in the offseason, it would be well worth it.
