Philadelphia Eagles: 5 potential replacements for Mychal Kendricks
With a glaring hole at weakside linebacker, here are three players who could step up and replace Mychal Kendricks for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018.
In case you missed it, the Philadelphia Eagles now have a desperate need for a starting caliber weakside linebacker following an incredibly eventful first day of OTAs.
After over a year of speculation, the Eagles finally decided to allow sixth-year starter Mychal Kendricks to become a free agent, and released the speedy, undersized playmaker from his contract before the team began their OTA on-field activities.
However, unfortunately for everyone involved, they may have wanted to wait a few hours before making that call.
A few hours after Kendricks was alleviated of his duties his presumed heir, Delaware Blue Hens alumni Paul Worrilow banged knees with Corey Nelson in a non-contact drill and suffered an incredibly unfortunate ACL injury, effectively ending his 2018 season before it even began.
While the team’s bad luck obviously came at an awful time, as free agency began over two months ago and almost all of the best players have already been snatched up by other, linebacker-needy teams, there are still plenty of different ways the Eagles could sure up their front seven moving forward, whether that be through free agency, a trade or with a player already on the roster.
So without further ado, here are five players the Eagles could potentially look at to replace Mychal Kendricks in 2018, from the simple obvious choices to a few options that are a little more out of the box.
