After months of playing down to their competition, the Philadelphia 76ers are finally blowing out lesser opponents with increasing regularity.

The Philadelphia 76ers have finally put it all together.

After a slew of roster shakeups, buyouts, and fluctuations in playing time, it appears as though Brett Brown has settled on a 10 man rotation that’s the perfect blend of youthful vigor and veteran savvy and as a result, the Sixers are playing by far their best basketball with the playoffs right around the corner.

And after months of waiting, they’re finally starting to blow out lesser teams.

Over their last two games, Joel Embiid and company have outscored the lottery-bound Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies by a combined score of 237-203 and for the first time in seemingly forever the team has been able to rest their starters for the vast majority of two straight fourth quarters.

With the Sixers starters only averaging a little more than 22 minutes of action a night over this stretch, Brown has been able to give valuable garbage time minutes to seldom-used players like Furkan Korkmaz, James Young, and Richaun Holmes. Even Demetrius Jackson, a player who’d sat on the bench for the last 29 games has put up eight points in 15 minutes of action while locking down the last quarter. (Demetrius, if you are reading this I’m sorry for calling your addition to the roster pointless in a previous article, I’m glad you are finally getting a chance to play)

And with six of the 76ers 11 remaining regular-season games scheduled against lottery-bound teams, it looks like Philly fans will get a front row seat to even more blowout victories.

After the team’s recent victory over the Magic, Coach Brown lamented that he would strongly consider resting players like J.J. Redick and Embiid for a game down the stretch, but if neither player is stepping on the court for the final 15 minutes of regulation for over half of their remaining games, that may not even be necessary.

Truly this is an amazing time to be a Philadelphia 76ers fan, as the team has become must-see-tv and amazingly, this is only the beginning of something great.

With the playoffs mere weeks away and the 76ers currently sitting pretty as an Eastern Conference fourth seed, Philly has a golden opportunity to reintroduce themselves to the basketball world as a perennial contender for the crown for the next decade. I guess good things come to those to Trust.
