And with their final pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Eagles could procure yet another versatile offensive weapon to help Carson Wentz.

With Trey Burton leaves in free agency and Brent Celek inches closer and closer to retirement with each passing season, Central Michigan‘s Tyler Conklin could give the Eagles a fitting partner for Zach Ertz moving forward.

Though Conklin isn’t a particularly well-known prospect in the 2018 NFL Draft, his game is going to turn heads at the next level.

Known as more of a receiving tight end when he first entered college, Conklin has greatly improved his blocking technique at Central Michigan, which could make him a nice fit as a second tight end in an offense. At 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, Conklin is sneaky athletic and if defenses forget about him, he can easily go out to the middle of the field and make a play. All season Burton had a knack for scoring touchdowns, and Conklin can easily fit that role while also chipping in as a Celek-esque blocker.

A real two-for-one if you will.

The Eagles boasted an incredibly deep stable of pass catchers in 2017, and Conklin would be the perfect addition to that group moving forward.

While most second-string tight ends are used as inline blockers, Conklin has the ability to affect the game in both facets. Sixth-round picks don’t often make a big difference in their first season, but the sneaky need for an additional tight end could force Conklin to play early and often, a role he could excel in moving forward.
