Philadelphia Eagles only Post-Combine mock draft
For the low price of a fifth-round pick, the Eagles could finally find their next great deep threat in Equanimeous St. Brown.
With Torrey Smith likely a cap casualty and Nelson Agholor on his way to a big contract next offseason, the Eagles should try to lock in a starting receiver on a rookie deal. Pairing St. Brown with Mack Hollins, another young hyper-athletic wide receiver, and star wide receiver Alshon Jeffery could give the Eagles an advantage in size and speed that they can exploit every game.
While St. Brown wasn’t the most prolific college receiver statistically in 2017, that can be shocked up to a lack of reliable quarterback play at Notre Dame over the last few years. Among his many talents, St. Brown has the body type to go up top against any of the top cornerbacks and the 4.48 speed to blow the top off of any defense, a trait the Eagles offense has been desperately searching for since DeSean Jackson was unceremoniously cut after the 2013 NFL season.
Simply put, St. Brown could be another wide receiver who ends up being a better professional than a college player, and for a fifth-round pick, he could give the Eagles a load of potential.
