Philadelphia Eagles only Post-Combine mock draft
With the last pick in the first round, the Eagles draft the best center in this years draft class. Sure, center isn’t the biggest need for the team in 2017, but this pick could not only help the team now but could really pay dividends in the not too distant future.
Though his draft stock has dropped because of a torn pectoral muscle he suffered at the Combine, after surgery, Billy Price should be ready to go for training camp. He may not slide directly into the center position from day one, but Price is able to play anywhere along the line.
Inserting Price at left guard would allow Stefen Wisniewski to go back to his original role of the first lineman off the bench, give the Eagles much more depth, and gives the team their future center once he is ready to take over for Jason Kelce.
Price is equally good in both the run and pass game and can open up holes for runners while also allowing the quarterback to have time to allow the play to develop. Going into the offseason, it seemed incredibly unlikely that Price would be available at 32, but between his Combine injury and the emergence of Iowa center James Daniels, Price very well could fall right into the Eagles lap.
