Sixers: LeBron James to Philadelphia rumor earns clarification from teacher
By Dan Parzych
Just for clarification, it doesn’t look like LeBron James is going to be joining the Sixers in the offseason, despite the recent rumors.
For the first time since the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LII, the Sixers lost a game after Brett Brown watched his team’s seven-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday following a 109-94 loss to the Washington Wizards. However, the loss by Philadelphia wasn’t even the most talked about topic in regards to the team thanks to a rumor heating up about the possibility of LeBron James joining the team in the offseason.
Believe it or not, one of the most discussed rumors from this past weekend involved James and how he apparently recently visited Malvern Preparatory School, leaving many to speculate this was being done in case his kid would attend next year. And even though there wasn’t any actual proof that James did in fact take a tour, that didn’t stop Philadelphia fans from holding back their excitement since the possibility of the superstar joining Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid seemed too good to be true.
Unfortunately for Sixers fans, there was some clarification to the rumor of James recently touring Malvern Preparatory School, and it’s not the news they were hoping for. Based off what this teach from Malvern Preparatory School had to say on social media, it’s clear there are no reasons to make a big deal over this recent rumor of James to Philadelphia.
Of course, just because James joining the Sixers doesn’t seem realistic at the moment doesn’t mean things could change over the next few months since crazier things have happened in the NBA when it comes to players ending up on teams nobody expected them to. Plus, let’s not forget there has been some frustration between James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at times throughout the regular season, so anything seems possible at this point.

At least for now, Philadelphia fans were able to get some clarification over the latest rumor surrounding James coming to the City of Brotherly Love, and focus on what’s most important at the moment, which is the Sixers continue to making a strong case for being a team to beat in the Eastern Conference. Sunday’s loss to Washington may have been frustrating, but the fact that Philadelphia is only 3.5 games behind Cleveland for the No. 3 seed is exciting.
