With some members of the Philadelphia 76ers wanting to attend Super Bowl LII in Minnesota to support the Philadelphia Eagles, it looks like Brett Brown has at least offered a deal to his players.
Despite winning seven of their last eight games, the Philadelphia 76ers aren’t even the hottest team in the City of Brotherly Love at the moment after the Philadelphia Eagles punched their ticket to Super Bowl LII after crushing the Minnesota Vikings 38-7 in the NFC Championship. Coincidentally, the Eagles will be facing the same team they faced 13 years ago in the Super Bowl in the New England Patriots after Tom Brady and company came up on the winning end of a tough battle against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
For obvious reasons, Doug Pederson‘s squad has the full support from other professional athletes in the city since it’s always important for teams like the Sixers and Eagles to support one another. In fact, there have apparently been a few members of the Sixers who have already expressed interest in making the trip to Minnesota to support the Eagles, but that’s always easier said than done.
From now until the Super Bowl (including Monday night), Brett Brown’s team has an intense scheduled packed with eight games, two of which happen to be that Super Bowl weekend on Friday and Saturday against the Miami Heat (home) and Indiana Pacers (away). After that, the next game for Philadelphia will be on that Tuesday at home against the Washington Wizards, making it easy to understand why Brown may be concerned over his players going out of the way to travel to Minnesota, even if it would be a kind gesture. However, it appears there is at least one way Brown would consider letting his players make the trip, which would happen to be quite amazing to see.
Brett Brown just told @NBCSPhilly that a couple of his players have already asked to attend the Super Bowl. Joel Embiid told me this morning he’s in, if Coach is. The deal? Brett said if they go undefeated the next eight games, they can charter from Indy to Minny.

Going undefeated over the next eight games is quite the challenge from Brown, but also not out of the question when looking at their upcoming schedule. Not only should Philadelphia be able to win a majority of those games, but their toughest challenges would definitely be on the road against the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Give Brown credit for making sure the Sixers stay focused instead of committing to a Super Bowl trip since at the end of the day, that’s the most important factor. But who knows, maybe this challenge by Brown will help motivate Philadelphia to remain hot while continuing to climb the standings in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
