It looks like NFL commissioner will be in attendance for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings.

In just a few days, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game, with the winner advancing to Minnesota to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 52. When looking back at the serious contenders from the beginning of the season, nobody ever would have pictured these two teams to be on the verge of representing the NFC in this year’s Super Bowl, but here they are with Nick Foles and Case Keenum under center.

From Philadelphia’s perspective, all hope seemed lost about a month ago when the offense received a major blow losing Carson Wentz to a torn ACL, especially since there were plenty of questions surrounding the ability of Foles to lead the way under center. And while Foles hasn’t really put together any monster performances other than Week 15 against the New York Giants in which he completed four touchdown passes, the important factor is he did enough to help the Eagles earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC along with defeating the Atlanta Falcons in the Divisional Round.

With a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, there’s a good chance that Lincoln Financial Field will be packed with numerous celebrities to cheer on both the Eagles and Vikings. In fact, it appears the NFL Commissioner himself, Roger Goodell, will be in attendance as well to witness what should be quite the defensive battle between Philadelphia and Minnesota when seeing how the two units have looked this season.

Of course, football fans can’t help but joke about the fact that Goodell is most likely doing everything in his power to avoid attending the AFC Championship Game since New England Patriots fans still haven’t forgiven him for how he handled the whole suspension that took place at the beginning of last season with Tom Brady. Yes, it sounds ridiculous, but also wouldn’t be surprising since the commissioner had an easy way out by going to the City of Brotherly Love instead.

Then again, just because Goodell has decided to go to Philadelphia doesn’t mean he’s going to escape all of the booing since Eagles fans will most likely let him know how they feel every possible chance. At least if Philadelphia ends up defeating Minnesota to advance to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2005, fans will be in a much better mood, and may not boo the commissioner as much.
