2. Rattle Trubisky

The Bears gameplan this season with Trubisky has been very obvious. Run the ball with Jordan Howard while limiting the shots their young quarterback takes. John Fox would like to keep the game very manageable for their young quarterback and keep him in very manageable situations.

On Sunday, the Eagles need to make the game a lot more complicated for Mitch and the Bears offense. Philadelphia’s top-ranked rush defense has to shut down the run and put this game solely on Trubisky’s shoulders. If they can do that, then mission accomplished.

Forcing Chicago into third and longs and getting after their quarterback will make this game extremely difficult for the Bears and they may struggle to move the football. If the Eagles allow Chicago to establish the run, then they may be able to keep it close, at least for a while.

Getting out to an early lead and shutting down the run will put the Eagles at a huge advantage. If Trubisky has to drop back 25-30 times and the Eagles pass rushers can get after him, then he may make his fair share of mistakes.

The Bears offense has been very conservative and likes to play in low scoring games. Forcing them to abandon their usual gameplan will pay huge dividends in a big day for the Eagles.

Obviously, Eagles fans know what it is like to have a rookie quarterback, as we went through that last season with Wentz. On Sunday, the Eagles defense must do what they can to make the former UNC quarterback look like a rookie.
