2. Dominate on the ground

In just a small sample size, Eagles fans were able to see what newly acquired running back Jay Ajayi brings to the table. After rushing for 77 yards on eight carries and a touchdown before the bye week, Eagles fans were eager for more, and that is just what they are going to get this Sunday.

While most players were out of town for the bye, Ajayi stayed back and continued to learn the playbook. Now, just two and a half weeks from being brought in to Philadelphia, the coaches have a lot of confidence in Ajayi’s knowledge of the playbook.

In Dallas, we are going to get to see how the Eagles will approach their running game. The “three-headed monster” of Ajayi, LeGarrette Blount, and Corey Clement gives the Eagles an abundance of talented options in the running game. Being able to throw especially Blount and Ajayi at defenses are going to make the Eagles’ ground game very difficult to defend.

It would not be surprising to see Ajayi get the majority of the carries on Sunday, but expect Blount and Clement to be also integrated into the game plan. Having the ability to swap out some very talented runners will bring a whole new dynamic to this Eagles offense, having Ajayi knowing more of the playbook will allow for him to do more.

It was extremely evident early on that when the Eagles finally made it a priority to establish the ground game, they turned the corner into the potent offense they are now. Having that threat of a run game has made it a lot easier on Wentz in year two.

Now possessing one of the most talented backfields in the entire NFL, the Eagles have the chance to grow this offense to a whole new level, and that can start this Sunday in Dallas.
