As the summer winds down that means one thing, the the Philadelphia Eagles season is near. When the NFL is near, it also means it’s time to go head to head with friends over the internet through fantasy football.

There is no better feeling than bragging to a friend that you beat them in fantasy football, especially if some of your favorite players are involved. This year there will be several Philadelphia Eagles drafted as difference makers before the season kicks off. Here are the Eagles that could win you a fantasy championship.

Alshon Jeffrey: Wide Receiver

One of the most notable acquisitions this offseason in the NFL was Alshon Jeffrey deciding to sign with the Eagles. Citing the game play and potential of Carson Wentz as some of the reasons for coming to Philadelphia, expect Wentz to pepper his new top target with passes. Jeffrey has shown glimpses of being an elite wide receiver in Chicago, and as long as injuries don’t slow him down the sky is the limit.

Injuries have taken their toll on Jeffrey in years past, so don’t draft him as your top receiver. Instead draft Jeffrey as your second receiver who could put up #1 receiver numbers by years end. There is risk involved but the reward could be huge.

Zach Ertz: Tight End

It seems like every offseason there are whispers that Ertz is primed for a breakout year. While he has been a reliable option in fantasy football he hasn’t gotten that breakout. Known as Carson Wentz’s security blanket, Ertz is a good bet to catch at least 70 balls for the third year in a row.

With improved weapons on offense Ertz might not be the go to guy anymore, but I still believe he will be a solid starter in fantasy football leagues. The breakout many have expected may not come this year, but what Ertz brings to the table is stability, which is what many look for in the tight end position.

LeGarrette Blount: Running Back

As the new starting running back for the Eagles, LeGarrette Blount is facing high expectations. Coming off a career year where he scored a career high 18 touchdowns and rushed for 1,161 yards for the New England Patriots, Blount will not repeat those numbers with his new team. He is a between the tackles runner who doesn’t help out in the passing game.

That’s fine, as the Eagles have other players that fill that role, but fans need to realize this before they draft Blount as their top running back. With so many other running backs who are fighting for carries, Blount should be looked at as a low end second running back on fantasy teams. He is the type of player that helps the team in real life more than on the fantasy gridiron.
