The Philadelphia 76ers draft night went much differently than anyone would have guessed a month ago. Time to take a look at what exactly went down.

Just a few short weeks ago, all anyone was talking about around Philadelphia was whether we take Josh Jackson, Lonzo Ball, Jayson Tatum, De’Aaron Fox, or someone else with the number three pick. Then, in a move not quite of the norm for Bryan Colangelo, the Sixers pulled off what is being received as a fantastic trade with the Boston Celtics to acquire the number one overall pick in the draft. While that move, for good reason, has taken much of the spotlight, plenty more went down in Sixers camp last night.

The Sixers started the night with five draft picks and ended the night selecting four players. What exactly happened in between? Before we profile the four draft picks, let’s take a close look at the deals that went down and their future ramifications for the organization.

Deal #1

76ers receive: #1 overall pick (Markelle Fultz)

Celtics receive: #3 overall pick (Jayson Tatum), 2018 Lakers 1st round pick if it falls between pick 2-5, and 2019 Kings 1st round pick (#1 protected) if Lakers pick doesn’t convey.

Deal #2

76ers receive: #25 overall pick (Anzejs Pasecniks)

Magic receive: 2020 top 20 protected 1st round pick from Oklahoma City and a 2020 2nd round pick.

Deal #3

76ers receive: Cash considerations (rumored $100,000) from Los Angeles Clippers.

Clippers receive: #39 overall pick (Juwan Evans)

Deal #4

76ers receive: Cash considerations from Milwaukee Bucks.

Bucks receive: #46 overall pick (Sterling Brown)
