Doesn’t Bill Belichick love to collect good receivers on the cheap?

When it comes to picking a productive veteran off of the NFL scrapheap, you can never put anything past the Patriots. Sure they just got Brandin Cooks from the New Orleans Saints to be their de facto number one receiver but that doesn’t mean that they can’t add more to their options.

Tom Brady hasn’t had a true NFL quality receiving core in years, really since Randy Moss was roaming the sidelines at Foxborough. This move could give Brady the receivers that he needs to make another Superbowl run or two before he finally hangs up his cleats cementing the Patriots dynasty.

The Patriots have the cap space to negotiate a fair deal with Maclin and he would offer a significant upgrade over Malcolm Mitchell and Chris Hogan. While they were good in flashes, when you can get someone like Jeremy Maclin, you get him. While neutral fans may not want to see Maclin land in New England, it would make sense in more ways than one.
