3. Sean Couturier-Center  63 GP 11G-28A-39P

Sean Couturier would have been higher up on this list if it were not for two other players. It is a shame the Couturier got hurt during the season. There was a stretch of about 10-15 games where he was averaging a point per game. He has the opportunity this year to have a true breakout year offensively.

Coots has already established himself as an elite defensive centerman in the NHL. All he needs to is add that offense that got him drafted in the 1st round back in 2011. If he did not get hurt last year, he could have easily been a contender for the Selke trophy.

What is a really scary thought is that Couturier is still only 23 years old. The kid still hasn’t hit his full prime yet. Once he adds more offense too his game along with his defensive skills, Coots will be a Selke award winner. This year 50-60 points should be within reach for him.

With power play time being increased, and hopefully some more secondary scoring throughout the lineup, Coots could have a huge season this year. Couturier needs to give reason to why he was given a long term extension last year.

The only thing coming out of training camp that should be seen in his game, is more aggressiveness in the offensive zone.
