Receivers (WR/TE), Grade: C+

The receiving corps this year has a couple of potential bright spots riddled with a slew of question marks. The glimmer of hope for the Philadelphia Eagles’ passing game this season lay in the hands of Zach Ertz and Jordan Matthews. Ertz signed a five-year contract worth more than 42M this offseason. Fans of the team have been waiting for two years now for Ertz to have his breakout season and last year ended in the right direction for the tight end and Howie Roseman found it appropriate to reward him for it.

Jordan Matthews showed more of his potential last season with 85 catches for almost 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns. According to sportingcharts.com, Matthews attributed five drops last year. Unfortunately, though, there is no stat for balls that should’ve been caught but are not considered to be a drop.

Beyond these two players, there are a bunch of unknowns that will need to step up because a slot receiver and an above average tight end won’t be enough to keep the air attack afloat in 2016. Players like Nelson Agholor and Josh Huff are going to have to start living up to the hype.
