Kyle Drabek is another player who is more well known for his time with another team than the Philadelphia Phillies.

Drabek was drafted with the 18th pick in the 2006 draft out of The Woodlands High School in Texas. He never really got his chance with the Phillies and was traded out to the Toronto Blue Jays for Roy Halladay, and Drabek made his major league debut in 2010.

That year he started three games, giving up nine runs over 17 innings for a 4.76 ERA. In 2011 and 2012 he got another crack at the rotation but never made an impression in either year. His issue was that he walked too many batters. In 2011 he walked 55 while striking out 51 in 78 innings pitched and in 2021 he walked 47 and struck out 47 over 13 starts spanning 71 innings.

Those serious control issues saw Drabek be converted into a relief pitcher and ultimately in 2014 they saw him out of Toronto completely. Drabek spent 2015 within the White Sox organization and is currently with the Diamondbacks but shows no signs of being a major league regular anytime soon (or ever again).

Hopefully, he can have a late career resurgence but the outlook is grim.
