It’s easy to forget that the Philadelphia Phillies drafted Aaron Nola out of LSU in 2014 because of how dominant he has been at the major league level.

Nola flew through the minors coasting through all the levels between 2014-15 to make his major league debut for the Phillies in 2015. He made 13 starts last year and gave the Philadelphia Phillies hope for the future and it looks bright.

He has followed up last year’s success by being more consistent for the Phillies this year pitching to a 2.65 ERA over 12 starts so far spanning 78 innings. Nola has become the young ace of this staff and the national media are backing these claims up. Sports illustrated released an article recently with these excerpts

"Nola’s reaction is the same whether he struck the last batter out or gave up a home run. He restricts demonstrations of how fired up he is to the intensity with which he places his glove on the bench between innings. “I try not to get too up or too down,” he says. “We play a lot of games. You can only control what you can control. If I have a bad start, I try to make the next four days as good as I can. I’m a big process guy. The results will come.”"

Those intangibles will go a long way to making him a success in Philadelphia.
