The Philadelphia Phillies have a lot of trade chips on this team but they won’t be in a rush to move unless the right deal comes along.

The Philadelphia Phillies are looking for offensive help along with prospects with high upsides to raise the competition levels within their farm system. There will be a lot of teams calling to ask the Phillies about their movable players especially Jeremy Hellickson and their bullpen arms but it doesn’t mean that the Phillies have to budge.

They aren’t selling off the whole team and look to compete this year so in all likelihood all of the players listed will not get moved. For Blanco, Hellickson and Ruiz there are immediate replacements within the minors so it wouldn’t be the end of the world to see them go but to dismantle the entire bullpen (there are four top relief pitchers on this list) would be an unwise decision.

Most likely Andrew Bailey and David Hernandez will be traded now while Hector Neris and Jeanmar Gomez will be shopped at the Winter meetings. And that’s ok because the Phillies aren’t on pace for a 100 loss season where they need to have a complete fire sale to stock up for the future.

It should be interesting watching the trade rumors swirl around the Phillies but as long as they don’t part with any legitimate prospects this should be a successful trade season. Top priority is getting some help on offense without blocking the up and coming prospects. Strap on your seatbelts Philadelphia, the MLB Trade Deadline 2016 is going to be a wild one.
