Philadelphia 76ers: 5 Trade Scenarios For Noel/Okafor
Nerlens Noel, the 24th pick in the draft, future 2nd rounder to Atlanta for Dennis Schroder
The Hinkie-era Philadelphia 76ers seemed to obsess over Schroder. A reported deadline deal involving Nik Stauskas, Ish Smith, and future picks for Schroder fell through. There were then later rumors that the Philadelphia 76ers would once again trade for Schroder on draft night. There’s no telling if the Colangelo-era Philadelphia 76ers still want Schroder or not, but it would be a great add.
The Atlanta Hawks may have to pay big money to retain aging center Al Horford, so this deal may attract the Hawks as they would obtain a cheaper, younger Nerlens Noel. Horford is far superior to Noel offensively, but Noel would be a nice addition while also allowing the Hawks flexibility in free agency. It would also give them the 21st and 24th pick in the draft.
The Philadelphia 76ers would gain a young guard who is seemingly on his way to becoming a great point guard. Schroder can get trigger happy at times, but he would allow the Philadelphia 76ers to check off the boxes when it comes to roster building. Schroder may cost some money down the line, but he will prove his worth.
This deal allows the Philadelphia 76ers to keep Nik Stauskas who, despite his early struggles, really came on the second half of the season. This deal seems to be more of a benefit for the team than the one at the trade deadline.
