Philadelphia 76ers: 5 Trade Scenarios For Noel/Okafor
Nerlens Noel, the 24th pick, to Phoenix for the 13th pick in the draft and Archie Goodwin:
Nerlens Noel has given the Philadelphia 76ers some amazing defensive moments, and he’d do the same in Phoenix if he were traded there. Noel’s defensive box plus minus dropped last season, but he’s averaging a 4.0 DBPM over his two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. To put that in perspective it’s comparable to Draymond Green‘s numbers, who has had a 3.8 DBPM over his career.
The Phoenix Suns’ overload of guards has seen them struggle when it comes to the front court. Noel would anchor the Suns’ defense down low that included Alex Len, Mirza Teletovic, and Tyson Chandler. The 24th pick in the draft is more of a sweetener, but the Phoenix Suns could add a player like Thon Maker or Brice Johnson who would add an offensive complement to Noel’s game.
The Philadelphia 76ers’ return may not seem too high, but it could bring in an impactful player with good scouting. The 13th pick in the draft would allow the Philadelphia 76ers to take a chance on a guard like Wayne Baldwin or Demetrius Jackson. At the same time, the team is keeping offensive stud Jahlil Okafor who could develop into a star with yet another offseason under his belt.
Archie Goodwin would be looked at as a throw in, as the young shooting guard has struggled in his career offensively. His game would take some refining, but he could become a surprising piece in this trade.
